To a mixture of N-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-1,5-dimethyl-3-oxo-2-phenyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxamide (356 mg, 1.1 mmol) in DMSO (4 mL) in a microwave vial was added NaH (88 mg, 2.2 mmol, 60% dispersed in mineral oil) at rt. The reaction was stirred at rt for 30 minutes, then 3,4-dichloropicolinamide (191 mg, 1.0 mmol) was added. The mixture was microwaved at 160° C. for 2 hours, then cooled to rt, and diluted with water (10 mL). The resulted mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate (30 mL×3). The combined organic phases were washed with brine (30 mL×3), dried over anhydrous Na2SO4, and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by a silica gel column chromatography (DCM/MeOH (v/v)=50/1) to give the title compound as a pale yellow solid (140 mg, 29%).
