To a suspension of ethyl 5-(2-chloro-4-fluoro-5-(pyridin-2-yl)benzamido)-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-3-carboxylate (Example 117A, 15.0 g, 32.3 mmol) in IMS (150 mL), was added 2M aqueous sodium hydroxide solution (83 mL) and the reaction stirred at room temperature for 3 hours. Aqueous hydrochloric acid solution (90 mL, 2 M) was then added. The resulting solid was collected by filtration, washed with water (10 mL) and dried under vacuum to give the title compound (12.7 g, 90%).
