A solution of compound 3 (200 mg, 0.32 mmol) in 4.0 M HCl in 1,4-dioxane (5 mL) under inert atmosphere was stirred at 0° C.-RT for 2 h. The volatiles were removed under reduced pressure. The residue was diluted with water (5 mL), basified with aq. NaHCO3 (5 mL) and extracted with EtOAc (2×20 mL). The combined organic extracts were dried (Na2SO4), filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure to afford 4 (130 mg, 81%) as an off-white solid. 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6): δ 8.24 (s, 1H), 7.82 (s, 1H), 7.60 (t, J=6.8 Hz, 1H), 7.22-7.11 (m, 3H), 6.84 (t, J=6.8 Hz, 1H), 4.33 (q, 2H), 4.17 (t, J=6.0 Hz, 2H), 2.98 (t, J=6.0 Hz, 2H), 1.84-1.80 (m, 3H), 1.32 (t, J=7.2 Hz, 3H), 0.92-0.91 (m, 2H), 0.84-0.82 (m, 2H); MS: m/z 517.6 (M+H+).
