6-methoxybenzo[d]thiazole-2-carbonitrile (1 g, 5.26 mmol) was reacted with sodium methoxide (0.28 g, 5.26 mmol) and ammonium chloride (0.6 g, 11 mmol) according to the procedure as described in Example 61, Step B to give the title compound as a white solid (0.96 g, 75%).
