To a solution tert-butyl 2-[(3S)-3-[[2-(5-chloro-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridin-3-yl)-5-fluoro-pyrimidin-4-yl]amino]-1-piperidyl]acetate, 2b, (0.12 g, 0.26 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (4 mL) was added trifluoroacetic acid (4 mL). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 18 h and concentrated in vacuo. The crude residue was diluted with 5% MeOH/CH2Cl2 and the resulting white precipitate was filtered and washed with CH2Cl2 to afford the desired product, 577, as trifluoroacetic acid salt.
