Following a procedure analogous to that for the synthesis of Intermediate 271F, 3-benzyl 1-methyl 4-(4-(dibutylcarbamoyl)-1H-imidazol-2-yl)isophthalate (200 mg, 0.40 mmol) and benzylbromide (83 mg, 0.48 mmol) were converted to the title compound (180 mg, 76%). 1H NMR (CDCl3) 8.68 (d, J=1.6 Hz, 1H), 8.15 (dd, J=8.0, 2.0 Hz, 1H), 7.43 (s, 1H), 7.39-7.34 (m, 4H), 7.28-7.26 (m, 2H), 7.21-7.17 (m, 3H), 6.90-6.88 (m, 2H), 5.15 (s, 2H), 4.64 (s, 2H), 3.96 (s, 3H), 3.90 (br s, 2H), 3.43 (br s, 2H), 1.70-1.59 (m, 4H), 1.37-1.23 (m, 4H), 0.93-0.82 (m, 6H); MS(ESI+) m/z 582.2 (M+H)+.
