To a solution of 3-benzyl 1-methyl 4-(4-(dibutylcarbamoyl)-1-phenethyl-1H-imidazol-2-yl)isophthalate (100 mg, 0.17 mmol) in EtOAc (5 mL) was added Pd/C (10%). The reaction mixture was stirred under H2 atmosphere for 6 h, filtered through a small pad of CELITE® and washed thoroughly with MeOH. The solvents were removed in vacuo to provide the title compound (75 mg, 89%), which was used without further purification. MS(ESI+) m/z 506.2 (M+H)+.
