To a solution of tert-butyl (trans-2-(4-cyclopropylphenyl)cyclopropyl)carbamate (260 mg, 0.951 mmol) in dichloromethane (DCM) (3 mL) was added TFA (500 μl, 6.49 mmol) and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 3 h. The mixture was concentrated and the residue was treated with saturated NaHCO3 aqueous solution and extracted with DCM (3×). The extract was dried (Na2SO4) and concentrated to give 148 mg of product as pale yellow oil. MS: (M+H)+=174.1. 1H NMR (400 MHz, METHANOL-d4) δ ppm 0.57-0.70 (m, 2H), 0.86-1.04 (m, 4H), 1.78-1.93 (m, 2H), 2.37-2.48 (m, 1H), 6.86-7.00 (m, 4H).
