To a solution of (S)-tert-butyl 1-benzyl-2-oxoazocan-3-ylcarbamate (9.0 mg, 0.027 mmol) in DCM (0.2 mL) at rt was added TFA (0.2 mL). The clear solution was stirred at rt for 1 hr. The reaction mixture was concentrated and dried under vacuum to give (S)-3-Amino-1-benzylazocan-2-one trifluoroacetate (6.3 mg, 0.027 mmol, 100% yield) as a colorless oil. Anal. Calcd. for C14H20N2O m/z 232.3. found: 233.1 (M+H)+.
