Procedure

A mixture of dimethyl 2-vinylpyridine-3,5-dicarboxylate (1.8 g), tert-butyl 4-aminopiperidine-1-carboxylate (2.4 g), N,N′-diisopropylethylamine (2.13 mL), acetonitrile (10 mL), and methanol (10 mL) was stirred at 150° C. for 16 hours under microwave irradiation. The reaction mixture was allowed to cool to room temperature, and then, the solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure. The obtained residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (hexane/ethyl acetate) to obtain the title compound (1.8 g).
