2-(1-((3-Nitropyridin-2-yloxy)methyl)cyclopropyl)acetonitrile (466 mg) was dissolved in a mixture of glacial acetic acid (4 ml) and ethanol (8 ml). Ferrum (1.1 g) was added and the reaction mixture was heated to 100° C. for 2 h. The mixture was concentrated in vacuo and the residue was dissolved in dichloromethane, extracted with an aqueous solution of K2CO3 (2M) and concentrated in vacuo
