Reaction Steps
2-Methoxy-7,8-dihydro-6H-[1,6]naphthyridin-5-one (18 g, 101.1 mmol) was added to a mixture of HBr/CH3CO2H (60 mL). The mixture was stirred at 60° C. for 16 h. The solvent was evaporated in vacuo to yield 2-hydroxy-7,8-dihydro-1,6-naphthyridin-5(6H)-one (17 g, 68%) as an oil.
