To a solution of ethyl 2,4-dichloropyrimidine-5-carboxylate (328 mg, 1.48 mmol) and 1-methyl-1H-indol-4-amine (260 mg, 1.78 mmol) in CH3CN (6 mL) at room temperature, DIEA (0.4 mL, 2.22 mmol) was added. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 24 h. Water (15 mL) was added to induce precipitation. The precipitate was collected, dried on vacuum to give ethyl 2-chloro-4-(1-methyl-1H-indol-4-ylamino)pyrimidine-5-carboxylate as a solid.
