A mixture of 1-{[4-(benzyloxy)phenyl]carbonyl}-4-(2-tert-butylphenyl)piperazine obtained in Example 17 (1.3 g), palladium carbon (contains 50% H2O, 300 mg), methanol (120 mL), and tetrahydrofuran (30 mL) was stirred at room temperature under hydrogen atmosphere (5 atm). The mixture was filtered and evaporated under reduced pressure to provide the title compound (1.03 g, quant.) as a solid.
