A solution of (3H-benzoimidazol-5-yl)-(10-methoxy-11,11-dimethyl-1,2,5,6-tetrahydro-4H-2,6-methano-benzo[d]azocin-3-yl)-methanone (0.10 g) in hydrobromic acid (2 mL, 48% in water) is stirred at 80° C. for 24 h. After cooling to ambient temperature, the solution is concentrated under reduced pressure and the residue is purified by HPLC on reversed phase (MeCN/H2O/NH3).
