To a solution of 1,1-carbonyldiimidazole (17 g, 103.5 mmol) in THF (200 mL), trans-4-[(2-Amino-benzoylamino)-methyl]-cyclohexanecarboxylic acid methyl ester (15 g, 51.72 mmol) was added and the reaction was heated to reflux temperature for 16 hours. The mixture was allowed to cool down to room temperature and the solvent was removed under reduced pressure. The residue was washed with 100 mL of H2O and the precipitate was filtered. The tiled compound (15.9 g, yield 97%) was obtained as a white solid.
