Procedure

To a stirred solution of compound 39 (1.5 g, 4.54 mmol) in dioxane (22 mL) were added bromobenzene (1 mL, 9.09 mmol), DavePhos (0.36 g, 0.91 mmol), and KOtBu (1.28 g, 11.36 mmol) and purged with argon for 15 minutes. Then Pd2(dba)3 (0.42 g, 0.45 mmol) was added and the solution was again purged for 15 minutes. The reaction mixture was heated in a microwave for 1 hour at 100° C. The reaction mixture was diluted in ethyl acetate and washed with water and brine. The organic layer was dried over anhydrous Na2SO4, filtered and evaporated. The crude product was purified by Combiflash® chromatography eluting with 5-6% of ethyl acetate-hexane to provide compound 40.
