Procedure

To a solution of Example 112C (160 mg, 0.306 mmol) in methyl alcohol (2 mL) added hydrogen chloride (4 M) in dioxane (1 mL) and stirred at rt for 2 hr. The reaction concentrated to give the title compound as HCl salt. 1H NMR (300 MHz, CHLOROFORM-D) δ ppm 1.27 (m, 1H) 1.34-1.38 (m, 1H) 1.40 (s, 9H) 1.61 (m, 2H) 1.81 (m, 2H) 2.53-2.63 (m, 1H) 3.02 (m, 1H) 3.13 (m, 1H) 3.81 (s, 3H) 4.03-4.09 (m, 1H) 4.33 (m, 1H) 6.85 (d, J=8.73 Hz, 1H) 6.93 (s, 1H) 7.21-7.24 (m, 1H) 7.53 (d, J=2.78 Hz, 1H); MS (DCI/NH3) m/z 438 (M+H)+.
