Procedure
2 ml of trifluoroacetic acid are added to 0.58 g (1.37 mmol) of 6-(1-trityl-1H-imidazol-4-yl)hex-5-enoic acid in suspension in 8 ml of dichloromethane. After the solvents have been evaporated off, the oil obtained is purified on a silica column (eluent 8/2 DCM/MeOH). 240 mg of 6-(1H-imidazol-4-yl)hex-5-enoic acid trifluoroacetate in the form of a yellow oil are isolated with a yield of 60%.
