1-Aminomethyl-5,6-dimethoxy-3-phenyl-3,4-dihydronaphthalene, the product of Step 2 of Example 2, was N-methylated as described in Example 111 and deprotected as described in Step 4 of Example 2 to give the title compound as its hydrochloride salt, m.p. 131°-133° C.; DCI MS: 282 (M+H)+.
