Reaction Steps
Following the procedure of Example 48, 1.13 g. of methyl 6-bromo-nonanoate and 1.31 g. of 2,4-dihydroxyacetophenone were reacted in 50 ml. of methyl ethyl ketone. Hydrolysis of the resulting methyl ester intermediate gave 0.3 g. of the title product, M+ =308; NMR, IR.
