Procedure
38.5 g 1-(2,6-dichlorophenyl)-2-benzoyl-3-tetrahydropyranyloxyguanidine are heated to a boil with 900 ml 5% NaOH (in a mixture water/ethanol 1:1) for 2 hours. After cooling, 25.1 g 1-(2,6-dichlorophenyl)-2-tetrahydropyranyloxyguanidine having a melting point of 178°-180° C. is obtained.
