Procedure
In this example, 4 g of 1-(4-ethoxycarbonylmethylphenoxy)-3-(1-methyl-3-phenylpropylamino)-2-propanol (Compound 14) is dissolved in 30 ml of ethanol and 6.1 g of 85% hydrazine hydrate is added thereto. The mixture is heated under reflux for2 hours. The solvent is distilled away from the reaction solution under reduced pressure. The residue is recrystallized from tetrahydrofuran-etherto obtain 1.6 g of 1-(4-hydrazinocarbonylmethylphenoxy)-3-(1-methyl-3-phenylpropylamino)-2-propanol. (Yield: 42%)
