Dissolve [9-(6-fluoro-pyridin-2-ylmethyl)-6-trifluoromethoxy-2,3,4,9-tetrahydro-1H-carbazol-3-yl]-carbamic acid benzyl ester (Preparation 45) (2.73 g, 5.32. mmol) in EtOH (100 mL) and THF (50 mL). Add 10% Pd/C (200 mg) and stir at room temperature under a balloon of hydrogen for 18 h. Filter the reaction through a pad of Celite®, rinse the pad with THF (50 mL), and concentrate the filtrate in vacuo to afford 2.37 g (90%) of the title compound as a dark brown oil. MS (ES): m/z 380 (M+1); HPLC (Method A): Rt=1.76 min (89%).
