Procedure
(1R*,2S*,4R*)-N2-tert-Butoxycarbonyl-N1-[(5-chloroindol-2-yl)carbonyl]-4-ethoxycarbonyl-1,2-cyclohexanediamine (1.40 g) was suspended in ethanol (8 ml), and a saturated ethanol solution (10 ml) of hydrochloric acid was added at room temperature to stir the mixture for 12 hours. The solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure to obtain (1R*,2S*,4R*)-N1-[(5-chloroindol-2-yl)carbonyl]-4-ethoxycarbonyl-1,2-cyclohexanediamine hydrochloride (1.25 g) as a colorless solid.
