Procedure
A solution of 1-amino-2-propyl-2,5-dihydro-4H-pyrazolo[3,4-c]quinolin-4-one (86 mg, 0.36 mmol) in phosphorus oxychloride (3 mL) was heated at 100° C. for 45 minutes and then allowed to cool to ambient temperature. The reaction mixture was diluted with diethyl ether (10 mL). A solid was isolated by filtration, rinsed with diethyl ether, and dried to provide 4-chloro-2-propyl-2H-pyrazolo[3,4-c]quinolin-1-amine.
