To a solution of 3-chloro-6-(5-methyl-3-phenyl-isoxazol-4-ylmethoxy)-pyridazine (200 mg, 0.66 mmol) in ethanol (3 mL) was added sodium carbonate (70 mg, 0.66 mmol), 1,1′-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene (37 mg, 0.06 mmol) and palladium(II) acetate (15 mg, 0.06 mmol). The resulting mixture was stirred at 50° C. for 1 h under a carbon monoxide atmosphere. After cooling to room temperature it was filtered through Celite® and concentrated. Purification by chromatography (SiO2, heptane:ethyl acetate=100:0 to 60:40) afforded the title compound (196 mg, 87%) as a light yellow oil. MS: m/e=340.2 [M+H]+.
