A 2 N sodium hydroxide solution (1 mL) was added to a solution of methyl (E)-4-{(4S*,9aR*)-7-[3-methoxy-4-(4-methyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl)benzylidene]-6-oxooctahydroquinolizin-4-yl}benzoate (80 mg) in methanol (2 mL), and the reaction solution was stirred at room temperature for 18 hours. 2 N hydrochloric acid (1 mL) was added to the reaction solution, and the solution was concentrated under reduced pressure. The resulting residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (elution solvent: chloroform:methanol=5:1) to obtain 77 mg of the title compound.
