Reaction Steps
A solution of 2.6 g (9.1 mmol) 3a in 50 ml diethyl ether was stirred with 10% aqueous HCl for 1 hour. The reaction mixture was washed with 5% NaHCO3, dried over NaHCO3. After evaporation of the solvent, 2 g (91%) of 4a was obtained.
