Tris(dibenzylidene-acetone)dipalladium(0) (1 mg) was added to 5-iodo-6-methyl-N-[4-(methylsulfonyl)benzyl]-2-oxo-1-[3-(trifluoro-methyl)phenyl]-1,2-dihydropyridine-3-carboxamide (Example 1 (d), 20 mg, 0.034 mmol), 2-(tributylstannyl)pyrazine (25 mg, 0.068 mmol) and triphenylphosphine (1.6 mg, 0.006 mmol) in toluene (1.5 ml) under argon and the mixture was stirred in a sealed vial at 100° C. overnight. After cooling, the mixture was filtered through celite and evaporated. The residue was dissolved in toluene and ether was added. The precipitate was filtered off and dried in vacuo (5 mg, 27%).
