3-(3′-methanesulfonyl-biphenyl-3-yl)-4-o-tolyl-piperazine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (90 mg) in ethanol (1 mL) was treated with a saturated solution of HCl in ethanol (1 mL) at room temperature overnight. The solution was concentrated in vacuo to yield crude 2-(3′-methanesulfonyl-biphenyl-3-yl)-1-o-tolyl-piperazine hydrochloride, MS: 407.3 (M+H)+.
