To 4.9 g of tert-butyl N-[2-(3,5-dichloropyridin-2-yl)-2-(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxyimino)ethyl]carbamate in 5 ml of 1,4-dioxane, 25 ml of a 1,4-dioxane solution (4 mol/L) of hydrogen chloride was added, and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 3 hours. After completion of the reaction, the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure, and the resulting residue was washed with 20 ml of hexane to obtain 3.1 g of the desired product as pale brown crystals.
