2-{[4-(3-Methoxypropoxy)-3-methylpyridin-2-yl]methylsulfinyl}-1H-benzimidazole sodium salt (10.0 g) was dissolved in acetone (50 ml). After the mixture was stirred at 24° C. for 23 hours, the precipitated white crystals were filtered and washed with acetone (10 ml) The product was dried at 2220 C. for 20 hours under reduced pressure to give the title compound (11.2 g).
