The product of Example 3 (5.0 g, 0.012 mol) was added to a mixture of sodium borohydride (0.5 g, 0.013 mol) in anhydrous ethanol at 5° C. After 1 hour, 10% aqueous hydrochloric acid solution (35 ml) was added slowly with copious gas evolution. The mixture was poured into water and washed with diethyl ether. The organic phase was washed with saturated sodium chloride solution, dried over magnesium sulfate, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure to provide the title compound as a white solid, m.p. 118° C.
