Procedure

A 0.1M stock solution of chlorotris(diethylamino)zirconium in tetrahydrofuran (THF) was prepared in a dry box by the addition of 1.14 g (3 mmol) of tetrakis(diethylamino)zirconium to 233 mg (1 mmol) of zirconium tetrachloride. After standing for 1 h, the mixture was diluted to 40 mL with tetrahydrofuran, and the resulting 0.1M stock solution was stored at -23° in a refrigerated dry box.
