Procedure

To a solution of 2.85 q (10.0 mm) of the sulfide prepared in Example 1 in 50 ml methylenechloride at 25° C. was added 2.1 g (12 mm) of 90% MCPBA. Small portions of MCPBA were added until conversion was completed as indicated by thin layer chromatography. The solution was poured into 50 ml methylenechloride, washed with 100 ml NaHCO3 solution, dried over Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated to give crude title compound.

Workup

  1. washwashed with 100 ml NaHCO3 solution
  2. dry with materialdried over Na2SO4
  3. filtrationfiltered
  4. concentrationconcentrated
