Trifluoroacetic acid (3 mL) was added to a solution of (5)-tert-butyl 1-(5-chloro-4-oxo-3-phenyl-3,4-dihydroquinazolin-2-yl)ethylcarbamate (1 g, 2.5 mmol) in dichloromethane (3 mL). The resultant was stirred at room temperature for 3 hours. The solvents was removed in vacuuo to afford (S)-2-(1-aminoethyl)-5-chloro-3-phenylquinazolin-4(3H)-one 2,2,2-trifluoroacetic acid salt. ES/MS m/z=300.1 (M+H+).
