The title compound was prepared as described in Example 1 starting from 0.228 g (0.7 mmol) of 5-(tetradecyloxy)furan-2-carboxylic acid and 0.196 mL (2.04 mmol) of 2,2,2-trichloroethanol. 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ: 7.4 (d, 1H), 5.74 (d, 1H), 5.03 (s, 2H), 4.19 (t, 2H), 1.7 (p, 2H), 1.2-1.5 (m, 22H), 0.85 (t, 3H).
