Procedure

Trimethylsilyl chloride (0.285 mL, 2.25 mmol) and sodium iodide (337 mg, 2.25 mmol) were added to a stirred solution of 6-(4-{[tert-butyl(dimethyl)silyl]oxy}piperidin-1-yl)-N4-[(1S)-1-(5-fluoropyridin-2-yl)ethyl]-N2-(2-methoxypyridin-3-yl)pyrimidine-2,4-diamine (Preparation 10c, 415 mg, 0.75 mmol) in acetonitrile (5 mL) and the reaction mixture was heated at 80° C. for 4.5 hours. After cooling to ambient temperature, water was added and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate (×3). The pH was then adjusted to ca. 6 with 2M aqueous sodium hydroxide solution and the aqueous phase was extracted with ethyl acetate (×3). The combined organic extract was washed with water and brine, dried (MgSO4), filtered and the solvent evaporated under reduced pressure to give the title compound (0.52 g, 100%) as a brown oil which was used in the next synthetic step without further purification.
