Reaction Steps
N-acetylneuraminic acid (1 g, 3.23 mmol) was dissolved in water (20 ml), then stirred with NaHCO3 (0.26 g, 3.09 mmol to PH 6˜6.5), after freeze-dried to afford the title product as white powder (1.05 g, 98%).
