Procedure

Acetic acid (R)-1-(4-benzyloxy-3-nitro-phenyl)-2-[benzyl-(2,5,6-trimethyl-indan-2-yl)-amino]-ethyl ester in a mixture of THF and toluene is stirred under hydrogen in the presence of PrO2 at room temperature for 15 hours. The mixture is filtered through celite and the filtrate is concentrated in vacuo. ES+ MS m/e 549 (MH+).
