Reaction Steps
0.39 ml (5 mmol) of methenesulfonyl chloride dissolved in 5 ml of dichloromethane are added dropwise to a solution of 1.67 g (5 mmol) of N-tert-butyl-5-methylaminomethyl-2-methanesulfonylbenzenesulfonamide and 0.73 ml (5.3 mmol) of triethylamine in 20 ml of dichloromethane which had been cooled to 0° C. After 30 min at room temperature, the reaction solution is washed with water, dried and completely evaporated in vacuo. 1.85 g (89.7%) of N-tert-butyl-5-(N-methyl-N-methanesulfonylaminomethyl)-2-methanesulfonylbenzenesulfonamide are obtained as a viscous oil.
