Procedure

1.4 g (4 mmol) of m-chloroperbenzoic acid were added a little at a time at 0° C. to a solution of 1.5 g (4 mmol) of 4-chloro-3-[4-chloro-3-(ethylthiomethyl)phenyl]-5-difluoromethoxy-1-methyl-1H-pyrazole in 40 ml of dichloromethane. The mixture was stirred at 0° for 30 minutes was subsequently stirred at room temperature for 4 hours and then the solids were removed by filtration. The filtrate was concentrated, and the crude product thus obtained was purified by chromatography on silica gel (eluent: hexane/ethyl acetate=1:1). Yield: 0.2 g.
