Procedure

A solution of 2.1 g (6.6 mmol) of m-chloroperbenzoic acid in 10 ml of dichloromethane was added dropwise to a solution of 2.1 g (5.3 mmol) of 4chloro-3-[4-chloro-3-(2-ethoxycarbonylhydrazino)-phenyl]-5-difluoromethoxy-1-methyl-1H-pyrazole in 15 ml of dichloromethane. The mixture was stirred at 35° C. for 30 minutes and poured into 50 ml of water. The organic phase was separated off and washed with 10% strength by weight sodium hydrogen carbonate solution, then dried over magnesium sulfate and finally concentrated. The crude product was purified by column chromatography on silica gel (eluent: hexane/ethyl acetate=4:1). Yield: 0.5 g.
