Reaction Steps
A methanol solution (150 mL) of 36-3 (3.15 g, 8.08 mmol) was saturated with NH3. 10% Pd/C (2 g) was added and the mixture hydrogenated at 1 atm for 4 h. Filtration and concentration provided 36-4 as a purple solid.
