Succinic anhydride (0.39 g, 3.89 mmol) and 6-chloro-N-hydroxy-nicotinamidine (0.67 g, 3.89 mmol) were dissolved in 2 mL of DMF and heated at 120° C. for 2 h. The cooled solution was filtered and the precipitate was washed with water, and dried to give the product as 0.70 g (71%) of colorless solid which was used without further purification.
