To a solution of tert-butyl 3-(4-(3,5-difluoro-2-(trifluoro-methyl)phenyl)piperidine-1-carbonyl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-c]pyridine-6(7H)-carboxylate (59, 94 mg, 0.19 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (3 mL) was added HCl (2.0 N solution in Et2O, 3 mL). The mixture was stirred for 18 h at ambient temperature. The reaction mixture was diluted with Et2O (20 mL) and the mixture concentrated under reduced pressure to yield (4-(3,5-difluoro-2-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)piperidin-1-yl)(4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-c]pyridin-3-yl)methanone hydrochloride (60) as a white solid (80 mg, 97%).
