The compound was prepared from N-{2-[(1-Methyl-2-propenyl)oxy]phenyl}acetamide (549 mg, 2.67 mmol) and m-chloroperbenzoic acid (80%, 923 mg, 4.28 mmol) analogously to that described in Example 8 (ii). Purification wag done on silica gel with petroleum ether/ethyl acetate 10/15 as eluent. This gave separation of the two diastereomeric pairs.
