(S)-Methyl 3-(3-(benzyloxy)-4-methylphenyl)-2-((S)-2-(2-morpholinoacetamido) propanamido)propanoate (1.2 g, 2.4 mmol) was treated with a solution of lithium hydroxide-H2O (300 mg, 7.2 mmol) in water/THF (10 mL/10 mL) for 30 min. The THF was removed and the aqueous phase was acidified to pH=3-4 with 1 N HCl and then concentrated to dryness to afford (S)-3-(3-(benzyloxy)-4-methylphenyl)-2-((S)-2-(2-morpholinoacetamido)propanamido)propanoic acid, which was used directly without further purification.
