tert-Butyl(3-hydroxypropyl)(isobutyl)carbamate (0.73 g, 3.15), triethylamine (0.64 g, 6.30 mmol) and CH2Cl2 (30 mL) were added to a round-bottom flask. To the solution was added methanesulfonyl chloride (0.54 g, 4.72 mmol) and the reaction mixture was stirred for 5 h. The reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure and purified by column chromatography (hexanes/EtOAC) to afford the desired product (0.63 g, 64%) as a yellow oil.
